Introduction
This unit has been established with the aim of analyzing and resolving help-seekers’ health problems, monitoring the activities of relevant centers, participating in the recruitment of specialized staff in affiliated centers, promoting relevant activities, and taking part in relevant social and medical studies.
Road Accident Unit: This unit is required to comply with the provisions of Article 92 (unconditional reception of people injured in road accidents by all affiliated centers and treatment of injured people in public centers free of charge).

Major Tasks and Activities
  • Investigating and solving healthcare and therapeutic problems of help-seekers through interviewing them, and by implementing support plans
  • Guiding help-seekers and introducing them to affiliated health centers and other medical institutions to meet their medical and paramedical needs
  • Following up on the treatment of help-seeking patients and communicating with relevant medical centers
  • Identifying the University’s financial, social, welfare and medical resources and establishing a professional relationship with the help of relevant authorities to help reduce the economic problems of these patients, and contacting charities, the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, or the State Welfare Organization of Iran, if deemed necessary.
  • Reviewing complaints submitted by the social work offices of affiliated units and trying to resolve relevant problems
  •  Supervising, inspecting and controlling proper fulfillment of the duties of the affiliated units and trying to align them with the relevant policy
  • Holding briefings sessions and providing expert advices to relevant staff in order to promote the quantitative and qualitative aspects of their activities
  • Collaborating with affiliated units in human resources recruitment and management (transfer request, employment, etc.)
  • Attending relevant training courses, conferences, etc. to update information, and collaborating in holding in-service training courses to improve the quality of social works
  • Collecting statistics and information on the activities of relevant units, evaluating their activities and submitting reports to relevant authorities
  • Establishing a coordination between social work services and other healthcare activities
  • Planning to cooperate with charitable people and charity institutions and organizations in health and welfare affairs
  • Conducting relevant social and medical studies and presenting results to relevant authorities for appropriate planning
  • Facilitating necessary coordination for the implementation of guidelines and instructions issued by the Ministry or the university
  • Participating actively in hospital committees to achieve social work objectives and promote the quality of service delivery
In the Area of Cancer Hubs
  • Developing available cancer hubs established to support cancer patients
  • Collecting and reviewing records of all cancer patients, patients with specific diseases, and those with incurable diseases to provide them with discounts approved by the Ministry and allocating relevant financial resources to all centers
In the Area of Diabetes
  • Implementing Phase 2 of the National Program on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Diabetes in diabetes hubs, as focal points, and allocating relevant financial resources to this program
  • Providing relevant staff with training courses to improve quality of services
  • Visiting diabetes and cancer hubs and other healthcare centers regularly to monitor quality and quantity of services
In the Area of Road Accidents
  • Receiving relevant documents from all affiliated centers
  • Reviewing and controlling documents related to road accident patients based on government fees in all private centers and conducting a random review of such documents in public centers
  • Reviewing and controlling the invoices of orthopedic consumables issued for injured patients in accordance with existing guidelines and directives
  • Summarizing and reporting statistics on medical expenses to the Ministry
  • Monitoring and supervising the operational performance of road accident units
  • Distributing allocated financial resources among different centers (by Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Development)
  • Coordinating with private centers to pay for the treatment costs of injured people based on relevant tables
  • Holding training and coordination meetings for relevant staff to inform them about current guidelines
  • Handling complaints submitted to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Treatment regarding the treatment costs of injured people
  • Holding joint meetings with the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Development regarding the distribution of allocated financial resources among different centers and sending feedback to the Ministry
  • Holding seasonal meetings (for persons in charge of the implementation of Article 92) in affiliated centers for updating information, submitting statistical information, and presenting reports of seasonal performance
