Introduction
Following the revival of the University, the Accreditation Office was reestablished in August 2013. The main goal of this office is to establish accreditation standards in affiliated hospitals and centers through public and private training programs.
Accreditation Policy
In line with the University and Vice-Chancellor’s Office’s strategic plans, the Accreditation Office of Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Treatment at Iran University of Medical Sciences pursues the following objectives with the aim of enhancing service quality, using hospital accreditation instructions and other relevant instructions and guidelines:

Continuous improvement of the quality of hospital planning, coordination and accreditation

Using accreditation as a tool in order to facilitate public access to suitable healthcare services

Continuous improvement of the capabilities of administrators, managers and staff through continuous training

Client satisfaction enhancement

Major Tasks and Activities

Doing annual planning for the accreditation of affiliated medical centers and institutions

Monitoring the proper implementation of existing criteria and standards through continuous accreditation of centers and institutions

Communicating and coordinating with the Accreditation Office of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education to receive the latest relevant instructions
-
Handling complaints made by different organizations on the hospital accreditation process
-
Planning to train authorities of various medical centers and institutions to properly implement and enforce accreditation criteria

Monitoring the submission of proposals and corrective plans to the Office of Evaluation of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education

Providing superordinate authorities with activity and progress reports and discussing current problems with them
-
Planning to train evaluation officers to promote their scientific levels and conducting research on various accreditation areas

Planning to conduct scientific and practical conferences and workshops for accreditation experts and officers
-
Reviewing, studying, developing, and amending available hospital accreditation applied standards
